The Deo Volente Gull’s own, operate and maintain a beautiful retreat house on the water overlooking Albemarle Sound in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Rosie Dunford, a founding member of Deo Volente, walked the beaches and dreamed of this house along with Lela Vaughn and Marge Sencindiver. Rosie was a doer, and so the year-round retreat house was dedicated to the recovery of alcoholism following the annual Deo Volente Meeting on February 18, 1984.
The house is well-equipped (bring your own food) and can accommodate groups of up to 10 – 12. Retreats at the house are self-directed, and any member of Deo Volente may schedule and facilitate mini-retreats at the house to enjoy the serenity and peace of this beautiful place.
